Broadway song and dance sensation Michael Parks Masterson will perform and meet with local artists from April 8-18.
The artist will perform for free at 8 p.m. on April 8 at the Ho Chi Minh City Conservatory of Music, alongside both professional and amateur Vietnamese artists.
He will also hold talks with the press and other artists about Broadway and the field with musical theater.
A performer, director, and choreographer, Masterson has been invited to perform in more than 30 countries.
His Vietnam trip has been organized by the US Consulate General in Ho Chi Minh City.
Michael has taught dance, music, and theatre in youth and young adult programs such as the Angelo Conservatory of the Arts in San Angelo in Texas, Broadway Dance Theatre in Atlanta, Georgia, the Armory Performing Arts Centre in Montgomery, Alabama, and the Vivace Performing Arts Program in Tokyo, Japan.
With the US-based American Voices, an organization which focuses on the recently independent nations of Central and Eastern Europe to introduce American music and culture to the world, he has taught and performed at the American Performing Arts Academy, Taipei and the Unity Academy, Iraq.
He has recently produced Broadway Revues in Ankara and Minsk as well as conducted movement and theater workshops in Kabul, Afghanistan.
